Hippo
With the lifting of the ban on disc brakes in CycloCross
competitions, hydraulic brake specialists, HYGIA, developed
Hippo, a hydraulic disc brake system that is compatible with
existing shifter controls.
Hydraulic disc brakes are less affected by CycloCross debris
while offering better performance. However, existing shifter
controls are integrated in mechanical brake levers with
provision only for mechanical brakes.
Hippo connects to existing mechanical brake levers
converting the pull of mechanical brake cables to hydraulic
braking power. Light and small, it also features ceramic
pistons in calipers to improve braking power. |
